Arriving in stores today on Blu-ray and DVD is an expanded version of the superb Everly Brothers documentary, "Harmonies From Heaven," which aired in Britain on BBC4 earlier in the year.

This look at the career of Don and the late Phil Everly takes viewers from their days as child performers on their father Ike Everly's radio show to the top of the charts. "Harmonies From Heaven" delves into the brothers' relationship with the songwriting team of Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, who penned many of their early hits, including the million-seller "Bye Bye Love".

As music fans know, the Everly Brothers career was marred by an acrimonious breakup, which lasted until reunion a decade later. The brothers, post-1983m, toured extensively and recorded three albums of new material.

"Harmonies From Heaven" includes archival interviews with Phil Everly alongside recent observations by surviving brother Don. Artists indebted to the Everlys, such as Art Garfunkel, Graham Nash and Dave Edmunds, explain the brothers' influence on pop music.

The expanded home video release of the documentary from Eagle Rock Entertainment boasts additional interviews not included in the BBC4 version, along with a bonus DVD of a previously unreleased live concert recorded for Australian television in 1968.

The concert performance, recorded in black-and-white at Cheqers Nightclub in Sydney, features more than a dozens hits, including "Wake Up Little Susie," "All I Have To Do Is Dream," and "Bye Bye Love."

As wonderful as the documentary is, fans will likely return to the bonus disc again and again to enjoy the greatest vocal harmonies in popular music.

I am adding this U.S. working link to the complete "Songs" documentary, apparently edited of about five minutes per copyright rules.

The EBs participated in "Bringing It All Back Home," a 1991 documentary on Irish-American music. "Don't Let Our Love Die" is The EBs' audio from the show, but "Rose Connelly" is the show clip.

I have found the show clip of "Don't Let Our Love Die" but it is in a format that will not upload to this site. Unhappy
