Awards, honors, recognitions to The EBs

In 1986, The Everly Brothers were inducted into the inaugural class of the new Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The hall, in 1986, was not yet completed in Cleveland so the inaugural induction ceremony was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Don and Phil joined Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, James Brown, Fats Domino and other non-performers in the induction.

In 1986, The EBs were presented with their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in LA. EBs' friend and fan Tom Petty was on hand.

In 2014 the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honored The Everly Brothers at its annual American Music Masters concert, nine months after Phil's passing.

The Everly Brothers were presented with the Grammys' Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. Phil was honored in a Grammy show tribute to those recording artists who had passed away in 2014.








The EBs' "Cathy's Clown" was added to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry in 2014.

Keith Richards with Don at the inaugural induction class to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, 1986. Richards has gone on record calling Don “one of the best rhythm guitarists in the world” and citing his use of open G tuning, a key component of Richards’ own sound, as an influence.
