Buddy Star Day/Night/F.Guitar

I have just found out that this photo was sold as a poster in a music magazine in 1958 - the size was 23inch x 18inch. That's a great poster size to go onto your bedroom wall.

In those days all 4 of my bedroom walls were covered in posters.

EXCERPTS from article:

"The music of Buddy Holly and other rock ’n’ roll pioneers will be featured when the Rave On Band performs at the Little Egg Harbor branch of the Ocean County Library on Thursday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. Chris Roselle, the trio’s front man, said the audience can expect to hear Holly staples such as “Peggy Sue,” “Not Fade Away,” “It’s So Easy,” “That’ll Be the Day,” “True Love Ways,” “Maybe Baby” and more."

"... Holly, whose original backing band was known as the Crickets, was unlike most of the other performers in the late 1950s in that he wrote and produced much of his material."

"The one-hour show will also include hits of Roy Orbison, the Everly Brothers and Ricky Nelson."
