I think it might have been very reasonable at that time too.

I think I read in Walk Right Back? that they were into breeding hunting dogs. Springer Spaniels make excellent hunting dogs.

When I see that mama dog in relation to the size of the dog house, I had wondered if those poor little puppies had room to move around in it. Maybe Don and Phil sneaked them into the house after school; perhaps put them in their beds at night. I know I would have done that! I cannot resist a puppy o...

I would happily pay $15 dollars for one of those cute puppies but I would probably have wanted 2 of them. I enjoyed having 2 dogs.
Our neighbor's are in their late 70's early 80's and they have an amazing well behaved fun 1 year old dog that they raised from a puppy.

The address for the puppies isn't the same as the original location of the little Shenandoah house, Bill Hillman told me that the family moved around a bit in the area, depending on what their income would allow.

Can you imagine Don and Phil taking these puppies with them to bed? I think I can; but perhaps Margaret prevailed; she did not want to change bed linens due to puppy accidents. Those were absolutely adorable puppies.
